What affects the cost of a CCTV system?

Number of channels: a 4-camera system costs far less than a 16-camera setup, because every camera adds hardware, cable and installation time.
Camera type: basic 2MP analog cameras are cheaper than 4K ColorVu or AcuSense AI cameras.
Recorder and storage: the DVR or NVR channel count and the hard-drive size (1TB to 8TB) set how many days of footage you keep.
Cabling and accessories: coaxial or network cable runs, BNC connectors and power supplies. Long runs and ceilings that are hard to reach cost more.
Installation: professional mounting, configuration, testing and commissioning.
